My 2003 Polaris Predator 500. That's right. 500 ccs of racing power. Geared down for extra torque off the starting line. The first time I rode it, I fishtailed the backend while shifting from 1st to 2nd. My underwear is my witness. Not pictured: Extra set of wheels and sand tires. Come over and ride it boys. Ladies, the Honda Foreman is on it's way. Much more lady friendly with push button shifting and all.

I rode a Yamaha Raptor, fully adjusted for maximum speed and power (the guy it belonged to was an absolute maniac on it). We were out at the Little Sahara sand dunes northwest of Nephi - sand dunes that go on and on forever. I dropped down into a huge, deep bowl with packed sands from recent rains. I shifted from 2nd to 3rd gear and almost flew off. I swear I wasn't touching the ground while making two crazy, tears-in-your-eyes circles of the bowl. It was the closest I've ever felt to being absolutely out-of-control and close to death. It was nuts.

Crap...which way do I go? South to In-n-Out in St. George...or...North to Underwear wettin four wheelin?

Dave Heywood said...

OH yeah...sweet ride! We should plan an outing... Maybe we will pick up Chadders on our way up North... Chadders is a pretty good copy cat of In-n-Out...

Chadders is a weird name for an In-n-Out copy.

It sounds like a rash you get on a deep-sea fishing boat from leaning up against the salty rails too long while reeling in your halibut.

Is the IN-N-OUT in St. George really finished? John

Bryan & Bobbie said...

Is their really a rash called Chadders? I think I it. I'll send pictures.

Bryan's first kid should be named Chadders.

I had Clam Chadder soup in a sourdough bread bowl while at Disneyland... It was delicious!
It cost almost as much as my ticket to get in, but it was good.

The Real Jim Heywood said...

OK, CUT THE CHADDER.

Someone answer my question about IN-N-OUT in St. George!!! John

Dave Heywood said...

I believe Paul and Lynda passed the In-N-Out info on... You will have to ask them...

The Real Jim Heywood said...

Paul & Linda did pass it along somewhere as a comment on the Heywood blogs. As I recall, they said it will open in the spring. My question is, judging from all the false pieces of information about In-N-Out opening in St George over the years, and/or stories of unknown or uncertain origin and not confirmed by any evidence, can this really be true? In-N-Out's web site says, "YES!":

I was in St. George this past week and they have just finished the stucco on the new In-n-Out. Sign says it will be finished in late Spring or early Summer. Exit 10 in St. George.
