A Sneak Preview

I was sitting in my office today (Thursday) and got a surprise visit from Jessica and little Joey. We are officially getting him tomorrow at 2 PM. I got to feed him lunch and I bonded with him as I walked down the hall to show my co-workers. I got all teary-eyed. He's dang cute, but of course he is, he's my son. John

There's a great scene in Ocean's 13 - you can watch the trailer - where George Clooney is crying and he says it's because he ate a pepper. Brad Pitt discovers he's been watching Oprah.

I think you were watching Oprah and used the kid to cover up. Are you going to name him Pepper?

There's a family in our ward who are having a baby boy in about the next 24 hours and they are going to name him "Pepper". No joke. But, again, we DO live in Arkansas. Actually, I kind of like the name.

Congrats on the little guy! Bobbie and I have been praying every day for you. If you're going to name him Pepper you should also make his middle name Jack. And fill his head with ideas about going through medical school.

And then fill his shoes with oatmeal. (Sorry, it's late and I'm tired.)

I should fill you with oatmeal, and peppers.
Thanks for your prayers. They have worked.
Pepper is nice, I like Dr. Pepper, but the name "Pepper" reminds me of an angry, black dog who haunted my childhood. Besides, Sunni is inclined to satisfy her yearning tastebuds with salty snacks. With this in mind, I think we'll name him Saltine or Saltair or salt-cured or salt-free or salt-rising bread or salt away or salt cod or salt depletion or salt flat or Salt Lake City or salt lick or salt marsh or salt marsh mallow or salt merchant or salt mine or salt plain or salt pork or salt reed grass or salt rush or salt shaker or salt tree or saltate or saltation or saltbox or saltbush or saltcellar or salted or salter or saltiness or salting or saltish or saltlike or Salton Sea or saltpan or saltpeter or saltpetre or saltwater or saltwater fish or saltworks or saltwort or salty or maybe just Sodium.
